Legendary Memphis-based chain Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, known for its signature spicy coating, is coming to downtown Mesa.
Founded in 1984, Gus’s has received countless honors, including being named the best fried chicken in America by Forbes and one of the 10 best meals in America by GQ.
The chain, which has grown to 29 locations nationwide, will make its Arizona debut in Mesa – between Worth Takeaway sandwich shop and Oro Brewing Company on Main Street – and a yet-to-be-determined site in Phoenix.
Construction of the Mesa store is expected to begin this month with an opening before the end of the year.
