Serrano’s launches new fast-casual concept Pronto in south Tempe

🌮🌯🥗 Pronto, the long-awaited fast-casual concept from Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants, has opened on the southwest corner of Rural and Guadalupe in south Tempe.

The space: The former sit-down Serrano’s, one of five for the family-run East Valley chain, has been closed since November 2020 for extensive remodeling.

The food: Build-your-own combos featuring Sonoran-style burritos, tacos, bowls, nachos, and salads.

  • Dips and sauces include three sizes (6, 8, or 16 ounces) of Serrano’s signature bean dip but, unlike the sit-down restaurants, it’s not free.

The drinks: Fountain drinks and bottles of Jarritos sodas.

The quote: ‘‘Our Pronto concept will offer customers fresh, quality ingredients at an affordable price,’’ says Serrano’s CEO Ric Serrano. ‘‘We hope our loyal customers embrace Pronto and that we gain some new fans as well.’’

The hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Closed Sunday-Monday.
