🐓 Southern Rail, a restaurant specializing in what it calls ‘‘classic American food with a Southern twist,’’ will close Saturday after nine years at The Newton shopping center in uptown Phoenix.
Owners Justin and Michelle Beckett and Scott and Katie Stephens made the announcement on social media:
‘‘It is time for us to say goodbye and give our neighborhood an exciting, new concept in the Newton. Stay tuned for their announcement in early 2024. … Join us for one more fried chicken, classic beignets, or an awesome Bourbon flight.’’
The couples recommended diners make reservations for any final visits due to ‘‘limited staffing.’’
Southern Rail’s sibling restaurant, Beckett’s Table, remains open.
