Tucson & Tempe ranked as Arizona’s ‘foodie-friendliest’ cities

For what it’s worth, WalletHub, an online site that ranks the top U.S. cities in various categories each week, has released a ranking of the ‘‘foodie-friendliest’’ cities.

The criteria: WalletHub says it used 29 indicators, ranging from the cost of groceries to affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants to food festivals per capita.

The top 5 cities: Portland, Ore.; Orlando, Fla.; Miami; San Francisco; and Austin, Texas.

How Arizona ranked: Tucson, 45th; Tempe, 46th; Scottsdale, 49th; Phoenix, 63rd; Mesa, 75th; Gilbert, 79th; Chandler, 94th; Glendale 113th; Peoria, 135th.
