Coming soon: Salut Kitchen Bar in Tempe

By Jess Harter Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Coming soon to Tempe: Salut Kitchen Bar, which describes itself as “an American twist to Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed European inspired environment.”

The restaurant, located on University about one-third of a mile west of McClintock, formerly was Sayuri Sushi Bar.

Salut will have a rustic-vintage decor, a 20-seat bar, an extensive display wine room, and a glass garage door opening to a patio.

Chef Jesse Carlson (Merc Bar, The Grind, Chick Rotisserie) plans a sophisticated-yet-affordable menu of bruschetta, tapas, salads, sandwiches, and entrees.

Signature menu items will include hummus nachos, roasted corn salad, and vegetable paella.

Salut, which will serve lunch and dinner daily, is scheduled to open next month.
