Women from more than 30 Arizona breweries will get together Jan. 15 to create what’s being called the first official all-female-brewed beer in Arizona.

The beer, simply named Red IPA, will be brewed at Huss Brewing in south Tempe and released Feb. 11 as part of the kickoff for the sixth annual Arizona Beer Week.

“More and more Arizona women are becoming craft brewers and launching their own breweries, and we thought this would be a great networking opportunity,” says brewery owner Leah Huss.

“What was once largely thought to be a male-dominated industry is evening out, and this event is a great way to get everyone together and show other women interested in breaking into the brew scene that they aren’t alone.”

Proceeds from the new brew will go to Go Red for Women, an American Heart Association charity that works to lower the prevalence of heart disease and stroke among American women.
