The Morning Dish: Liberty Market dinner, Bread Connection update

By Jess Harter Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Liberty Market Gilbert AZ“Breakfast for Dinner” is the theme of Liberty Market‘s next community dinner, which will be Monday, March 26, at the downtown Gilbert restaurant.

The menu has yet to be finalized, but chef David Traina (pictured above talking to guests at one of last year’s community dinners) is putting together five courses of breakfast items with a creative twist, four of them paired with breakfast-inspired cocktails.

Given the nature of the food, no wine or beer pairings will be offered this month.

Cost of the 6:30 p.m. dinner is $45 per person for food only, or $60 for food plus cocktail pairings.

Seating is limited to 40 spots inside and 20 on the patio. Sign up at Liberty Market’s espresso bar.

Bread Connection update

Bread Connection Chandler AZBread Connection, the artisanal bakery that opened in Chandler last week, may start making bagels – and opening in the morning to sell them – as soon as next week, according to owner Becky Smeraldo.

Until then, the bakery on the northwest corner of Chandler and Alma School is only open noon to 4 p.m. for lunch (sandwiches and salads) and retail sales.

Pittsburgh Willy’s breakfast

Since starting weekend breakfast a couple months ago, Pittsburgh Willy’s has found business on Sunday mornings is great but Saturdays is hit-or-miss.

So the Chandler eatery is dropping Saturday breakfast after March 24. Breakfast wraps, biscuits & gravy, and French toast still will be available on Sundays only.

Reminder: Today (and every Wednesday) is pierogi day at PW’s.
