• Sample the world’s finest tequilas this weekend at the Phoenix Tequila Fest, which takes place Saturday and Sunday at US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix. There also will be Mexican food, a margarita competition, and live entertainment.
• This year’s award for shortest -lived restaurant concept goes to Table Top Food Shop, which didn’t even last two weeks before reverting back into Mi Amigo’s Mexican Grill in east Mesa.
• NCounter in downtown Tempe is giving free coffee to ASU students during finals week, which runs through next Wednesday.
• The Detroit-themed Sunshine’s Motor City Cafe in Tempe, usually closed on Sundays, will be open from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Sunday so fans can enjoy coneys (pictured), Bettermade potato chips and Faygo soda before the NFL game between the Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions.
• A Beermuda Triangle Pub Crawl on Saturday will hit Flanny’s at noon, The Hungry Monk at 1:30, and Whole Foods Chandler at 3 p.m. There’ll be beer specials at each stop.
• Rare beers from Fort Collins, Colo., brewery Odell will be the subject of tonight’s Friday Beer Class at Whole Foods. There’ll also be some cool giveaways.
• The Gilbert Farmers Market food truck court returns 8 a.m. to noon Saturday with The Uprooted Kitchen,  Sandra Dee’s and Island Loco.
• The Sushi Room in Chandler is running a Groupon: $15 for $30 worth of sushi (pictured) and drinks.
•  chef Anthony Serrano will teach free classes at 5 and 5:30 Sunday on how to make taquitos and margaritas. Also, the Chandler Mexican restaurant’s four-course Tacos & Beer Dinner has been postponed until after the holidays.
• If you missed brewmaster Knee Deep Brewing‘s Jerry Moore and Jeremy Warren at Angels Trumpet Ale House on Thursday, you can catch them at 6 tonight at Papago Brewing. The California brewery’s Simtra Triple IPA, Hop Shortage Triple IPA, McArthey’s Bane imperial red ale, Tanilla Porter and new Apollo 55 Double Wheat IPA will be on tap.
• DVR alert: BBQ Pitmasters fires up its new season Sunday on TLC.
