Congrats to Flagstaff’s Lumberyard Brewing and Tempe’s Four Peaks Brewing, which won medals Friday night at the World Beer Cup in Denver.

The World Beer Cup, held every other year in a different city worldwide, is considered one of the top two beer competitions in the world (along with the Great American Beer Festival, held in Denver every October).

Lumberyard was a double medalist. Its Lumberyard Red won the silver in the Ordinary or Special Bitter category, and its Knotty Pine Pale Ale took silver in American-Style Pale Ale.

Four Peaks’s flagship Kilt Lifter won the bronze in the Scottish-Style Ale category.

This year’s World Cup featured a record 1,447 breweries from 62 countries and nearly 5,000 entries in 94 style categories.
