AZ Wine Lifestyle magazine to return under new owners

Good news for Arizona wine lovers: AZ Wine Lifestyle, a quarterly magazine that stopped publishing in December, will resume operations under new ownership.

Josh and Rhonni Moffitt launched what was then known as AZ Wines & Vines as an eight-page brochure in 2008.

It eventually grew into a 116-page magazine covering food, wine, and travel in Arizona.

Last fall, it changed its name to avoid a conflict with a similarly named publication.

The Moffitts shut down the magazine component in December, but continued to operate the AZ Wine Lifestyle website, social media, and weekly newsletter.

Enter the Johnson family

The new owners of the magazine and website are John and Michelle Johnson, former publishers of Scottsdale Scene Magazine and Sedona Magazine.

John will oversee advertising sales, editorial, and design. Michelle will be in charge of office management, distribution, and social media.

The couple also can draw on the expertise of their family, including sons Hoyt, a well-known Arizona writer, and Tom, a respected Arizona photographer.

Rhonni Moffitt will serve as a consultant to the Johnsons, who plan their first issue this fall.

“We are so happy to see the legacy of what we began continue,” she says. “Josh and I look forward to watching where AZ Wine Lifestyle goes from here.”
