Eggplant Cappicola (pictured) will be the opener of this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.

July 10 ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ menu

  • Eggplant Cappicola: Provolone and ham cappicola wrapped in fresh eggplant and deep fried. Served with marinara sauce for dipping.
  • Bleu Caesar Salad: Tomatoes, spring onions, red peppers, and capers tossed with bleu cheese and Italian dressing on romaine lettuce with homemade croutons. Anchovies.
  • Apricot-Dijon Salmon: Grilled tomato and zucchini, mixed greens with a chile paste, scallion oil, zaatar, honey, sriracha, rice vinaigrette and apricot-Dijon glaze.
  • Shrimp Bartolome: Grape tomatoes, artichoke hearts, cherry peppers, and green onions in a white wine-feta cheese sauce, broccolini with a grain mustard-pesto savory streusel, chimichuri shrimp skewers.
  • Dangerous Dilemma: Fudgy dark chocolate cake with a white chocolate cream layer finished with a raspberry liqueur sauce.

Cost is $25 per person, and you can add five wine tastings for another $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
