It’s gonna be a busy week at SanTan Brewing in downtown Chandler:
- Today marks the release of SanTan’s latest beer. The imperial IPA is called KiloHop and is described as having a musky tropical fruit aroma and light citrus notes. But look out: It weighs in at a hefty 9.8% ABV and 99+ IBUs.
- With the kids heading back to school, tonight’s 10 p.m. Monday Night Movie is the classic “Animal House.” The rest of this month: “Old School” (Aug. 11), “Revenge of the Nerds” (Aug. 18), and “Back to School” (Aug. 25).
- At 3 p.m. Tuesday, SanTan will tap Negra Luna, a version of its Negro Nitron black IPA aged in Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine tequila barrels. Clyne (pictured above with SanTan founder Anthony Canecchia) will perform a solo acoustic set from 3:30-4:30.
- Thursday is national IPA Day. Besides KiloHop, Negra Luna, and Negro Nitron, SanTan will have its MoonJuice wheat IPA and regular HopShock IPA on tap.
- On Thursday evening, a film crew will be taping an episode of “Check, Please! Arizona.”
