MWC Bistro, a neighborhood wine bar that opened at McQueen and Warner in Gilbert earlier this year, will host its first-ever wine festival from noon-3 p.m. Saturday.

The festival will feature 20 wines from four distributors each pouring “holiday-friendly” wines ideal for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and other holidays. All wines will be available for purchase at a discount.

MWC’s original location in Ahwatukee held a similar wine festival last month, but the Gilbert event will have completely different wines.

“This one will feature more Cabernet Sauvignon and red blends for cooler weather and more sparkling wines – not only Champagne, but more affordable bottles such as Prosecco from Italy, Cava from Spain, and American bubbly,” owner Zoya Vora-Shah says.

The kitchen will serve a limited menu of wine-friendly nosh plates such as meat and cheese platters, flatbreads, bruschetta, and desserts. MWC’s regular menu will be available after the fest.

The festival will take place both indoors and on MWC’s dog-friendly (and covered) patio. In case of rain, there also will be tents and heaters.

Live music will be provided by Aaron Howard.

Tickets are $20 in advance and can be reserved by calling 480-497-1422. Tickets are $25 at the door.
