The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
July 2 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Spicy Lamb Potatoes: Gyros meat and potatoes with herbs and spices. Hand-formed and deep fried.
- Panzanella Salad: Arugula, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, red onions, piquillos, capers, sugar snap peas, fresh basil, homemade croutons, goat cheese fritter.
- Farfalle Pesce: Crabmeat, bay shrimp, asparagus, garlic, capers, and mushrooms sauteÌed in wine cream sauce with bow tie pasta.
- Pork Molise (pictured): Grilled pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, roasted garlic, horseradish mashed potatoes, honey caramelized onions, and apricot-cherry sauce.
- Euro Delight: Moist black cake soaked with Kahlua and filled with a tangy chocolate Kahlua crème fraiche mousse
covered in chocolate whipped cream.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $27 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP:Â 480-962-4224.
