The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
Aug. 6 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Foccacia De La Provincia: Open-faced foccacia bread with fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, garlic, EVOO and thinly sliced portabello mushrooms.
- Mediterranean Salad: Hearts of artichoke and palm with roasted pepper, tomatoes, cucumber, scallion, avocado, romaine, lemon vinaigrette, and almonds.
- Sherry Cranberry Pork (pictured): Pork tenderloin, cranberries, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted red pepper, green onions, and rosemary.
- Tortellini Gianni: Italian sausage, cheese-filled tortellini, scallions, fresh garlic, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in marsala cream sauce.
- Mocha Espresso Brownies: Rich chocolatey brownies spiked with Greek coffee, Kahlua, and walnuts.
