Cuisine & Wine Bistro will celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau from 6-9 p.m. Thursday with multiple wine tastings and live music at both its Gilbert and Chandler locations.
In the Beaujolais region of France, the annual holiday on the third Thursday of November marks the release of the first wine of the season.
The fruity red wine is meant to be drunk young. Grapes are harvested in September, and the wine typically should be consumed by May.
‘‘We are so excited to double the celebrations this year with live music at our new location in Chandler as well as our first location in Gilbert,’’ says Mairead Buschtetz, who owns the wine bars with her chef-husband, Fabrice, a native of France.
French folk singer Cecile Hortensia will perform at the Chandler location from 7-10 p.m., while Americana folk singer Jill Cohn will play from 6-9 p.m. in Gilbert.
Due to the popularity of the events, reservations are strongly recommended. Call 480-275-6700 in Chandler or 480-497-1422 in Gilbert.
