La Stalla Rustica Cucina, the longtime Italian restaurant in downtown Chandler that closed at the end of June, reopened today on the southeast corner of 48th Street and Warner in Ahwatukee.

It takes over the former Los Dos Molinos, next to Philly’s Sports Grill, space in the Ahwatukee Palms Shopping Center.

La Stalla offers a menu of sandwiches (lunch only, $10-$11), pasta dishes ($18-$21), pizzas ($13-$17), and traditional Italian entrees ($19-$27).

The restaurant operated for 14 years across the street from the San Marcos Resort in downtown Chandler. For the past year, it had dealt with the construction of Overstreet, a block-long $25 million development, next door.

On June 28, MXSW broke the news a move to Ahwatukee seemed imminent. Two days later, the restaurant closed without notice and was emptied.

La Stalla is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
