Coming to south Chandler: Brooklyn V’s Pizza

Brooklyn V’s Pizza, which celebrates the five-year anniversary of its original Gilbert location on Thursday, is opening its third East Valley location in south Chandler.

It’s taking over the former Ekletic Pie space right next to the busy Harkins theaters on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Germann.

Chef-owner Vito LoPiccolo – whose background includes Italian restaurants in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island – opened the original Brooklyn V’s on the northeast corner of Lindsay and Warner in 2013.

With its New York-style thin-crust pizzas, oven-baked sandwiches, and Italian entrees, it quickly became a favorite destination of ex-New Yorkers Valleywide.

In May 2017, LoPiccolo opened a second, larger location on the southeast corner of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth in Queen Creek, where he lives.

‘‘This (Chandler) location came to me months ago and I fell in love with it,’’ he says. ‘‘I just thought maybe it’s the right time to open. Hopefully, we’ll reach new clientele from the moviegoers.’’

The menu will be the same as the other two locations.

Brooklyn V’s Chandler is expected to open by the end of this year.
