Cuisine and Wine Bistro celebrates Beaujolais Nouveau Day from 3-10 p.m. Thursday at its Chandler and Gilbert wine bars.
In the Beaujolais region of France, the annual holiday on the third Thursday of November marks the release of the first new wines – red wines made from Gamay grapes – of the season.
Georges Duboeuf, founder of one of France’s largest wine merchants, is credited with turning the local holiday into a worldwide phenomenon.
Cuisine & Wine Bistro will be offering tastings of the Beaujolais nouveau from Duboeuf’s own vineyard, Les Vins Georges Duboeuf, from 4-7 p.m.
Due to the popularity of the events, reservations are strongly recommended. Call 480-275-6700 in Chandler or 480-497-1422 in Gilbert.
