Peixoto Coffee staff steps up to help GrindTime owners

By Jess Harter Monday, December 17, 2018

It’s been anything but a happy holiday season for Mark and Becky Housholder, owners of GrindTime Coffee, an East Valley food truck specializing in coffee drinks.

Last Tuesday, Dec. 11, the family’s car, carrying the couple and their two children, was violently rear-ended by a distracted driver.

Mark, Becky, and son Brock suffered painful injuries but were able to leave the hospital. Their 10-year-old daughter, Kira (pictured), wasn’t so lucky.

Lira suffered a skull fracture and lost all movement on the right side of her body. Fortunately, she’s since regained at least some control of her right arm and leg.

She and her family face a lengthy recovery process.

Enter owners Jeff and Julia Peters and their staff at Peixoto Coffee Roasters, who quickly stepped in and have been manning the GrindTime Coffee truck since the accident.

In addition, the downtown Chandler coffee shop is holding a ‘‘Coffee Mocktail Happy Hour’’ from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20. All proceeds will go to the Housholders.

If you want to contribute but can’t make the happy hour, you can donate to the Housholder’s GoFundMe page here.
