Arizona Pita, a small fast-casual restaurant offering what it calls ‘‘Mediterranean gourmet food,’’ has opened in the Higley Marketplace on the northwest corner of Higley and Baseline in Gilbert.
It moves into a strip-mall endcap space formerly occupied by Careful Cleaners.
Appetizers are a curious mix of expected fare like hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, and dolmades, but also quesadillas, wings, and even chili fries.
The rest of the menu sticks to more traditional Mediterranean salads ($7.25-$9.95), wraps ($6.95-$7.25), and platters ($9.95-$10.95, pictured).
Beverages include sodas, teas, and smoothies. No alcohol is available.
Arizona Pita is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
