After 36-hour oven outage, Craft 64 in Chandler back to making pizzas

By Jess Harter Thursday, June 6, 2019

After its two wood-fired ovens were shut down for a day and a half by a technical issue, Craft 64 in downtown Chandler is making pizzas again (as co-owner Josh Ivey demonstrates above).

‘‘We were down for 36 hours,’’ says James Swann, another of the award-winning pizzeria’s four owners. “But we’re up and running again. We’re making pizzas.’’

The anchors of Craft 64’s menu are artisan pizzas and focaccia sandwiches. With the ovens down, it only was able to offer only a few items, such as charcuterie boards.

The bar side – 30 Arizona beers on tap and 50-plus bottles of wine – was unaffected.

Craft 64’s Chandler location celebrates its three-week anniversary Friday.
