Now open: Frasher’s Tavern in Old Town Scottsdale

Frasher’s Tavern, a Scottsdale landmark for nearly 16 years before closing in 2015, has reopened on the northwest corner of Drinkwater and Indian School in Old Town Scottsdale.

MXSW was the first to break the news about the St. Louis-style steakhouse taking over the former Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse, which also closed in 2015. Before that, it was an Outback Steakhouse.

Namesake restaurateur George Frasher also owns Frasher’s Smokehouse and Mrs. Chicken in Phoenix.

Frasher’s Tavern’s steaks and chops include a 6-ounce Arizona-raised filet mignon ($38), a 12-ounce ribeye ($39), a double-cut Frenched pork chop ($39), and slow-cooked prime rib ($36).

Other house favorites: Pan-seared steelhead trout, chicken Provel, Soulard pasta, and a house cheeseburger. (See the menu.)

Still to come: Smoker items (a smoker is on order) and St. Louis-style pizzas.
