Daruma, a Japanese restaurant named for the legendary monk credited with founding the Zen tradition of Buddhism, has opened in west Mesa. It’s one of several eateries in the Asian-centric strip mall on the northwest corner of Dobson and Southern.
Americana Burgers & Beer, a popular ASU student hangout in downtown Tempe, has closed permanently. The bar and grill opened in January 2018 near the northwest corner of Mill and Fourth Street.
