Romeo’s Euro Cafe to hold rare Saturday ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ dinner this week

Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert will hold a rare weekend version of its weekly ‘‘Taste of Romeo’s’’ dinner this week at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10.

The dinner, hosted by owner-chef Romeo Taus (pictured) and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, features five courses selected from the restaurant’s regular menu.

The dinner usually is held on Thursdays.

This week’s selections:

  • Spanaki Balls: Spinach, rice, and a blend of cheeses battered and deep-fried;
  • Greek Salad: Tomato, cucumber, onions, green peppers, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, pepperoncini. EVOO, and red wine vinegar;
  • Chicken Ziti: Artichoke hearts, onions, chicken, and ziti noodles baked in creamy ricotta sauce and topped with provolone cheese;
  • Sun Flower Beef: Steak strips, green onions, red peppers, portobello mushrooms, sunflower seeds, and capers in teriyaki sauce over brown rice;
  • Cheesecake Brownies: Rich chocolate cream cheese brownies with coconut and pecans.

Cost is $39 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
