Si Señor reopens in Chandler today after 6-month rebuild

🌮 After a six-month hiatus sparked by an electrical fire, Si Señor is officially back in business in Chandler today – a welcome return for the many fans of the beloved family-run New Mexican restaurant known for its comforting classics and neighborhood warmth.

The Aug. 2 fire not only left the building on the northwest corner of Alma School and Galveston in need of extensive repairs, but also left it without a security system – prompting owner Irene Castillo to limit updates on the rebuild, much to the disappointment of patrons hungry for information.

Today, however, the doors finally are open again, and the kitchen is back to turning out the dishes that built its loyal following — hearty combo platters with tacos, enchiladas, red and green chile pork, and chiles rellenos.

For Castillo and her staff, it’s the beginning of a much-anticipated comeback. For Chandler diners, it’s the welcome return of a dependable go-to.
