Michelin-recognized Indian restaurant Nadu opens at Desert Ridge

🍛 Desert Ridge Marketplace isn’t just a place to grab dinner before a movie anymore – not with the opening of Nadu over the weekend.

The concept comes from Michelin-starred, James Beard-nominated chef Sujan Sarkar, who partnered with Zest Hospitality Group (the team behind Chandler’s acclaimed Feringhee Modern Indian Cuisine) to bring Nadu to the Valley.

The Chicago flagship earned a Bib Gourmand designation and a Best New Restaurant nod from Eater National within its first year, and Phoenix is only the second city to get one.

The menu takes diners on a tour of India’s regions – think Dahi Bhalla chaat, Benne Masala Dosa, and duck kebabs – with about two dozen a la carte dishes that lean on local produce and sustainable sourcing.

The space seats 120-plus and features bold oil paintings by Chicago artist Abhay Sehgal, plus a wood-paneled bar pouring Kingfisher on draft and inventive cocktails riffing on mango, turmeric, and masala chai.

Open 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 4-10 p.m. Sunday.
