Copper & Logs in Gilbert has released a special Valentine’s Day prix menu for two (click for larger version) with a glass of Prosecco for Sunday, Feb. 14.

Chef Mike Maitrel-Burgard’s menu features choices of three starters, three entrees and two desserts at $70 per person for the meal.

Starter choices are prosciutto and cantaloupe millefeuille; tuna and shrimp ceviche with lime crème fraîche; or eggplant Caprese topped with elote.

Entrée choices are duck breast and sautéed mushroom sauce, potato mousseline, and zucchini spaghetti; Atlantic salmon filet, beurre blanc, bell peppers polenta, and charred Brussels sprouts; or ratatouille risotto, garlic and parmesan roasted cauliflower steak, and tomato broth.

B Gastrobar in Gilbert has released a special Valentine’s Day menu for two with a bottle of wine (click for larger version) for Sunday, Feb. 14.

Chef Steven Buschtetz has created an eclectic selection of favorites with the diner’s choice of a bottle of Prosecco, Chardonnay, or Cabernet Sauvignon.

For $75, a couple will start the evening with smoked salmon tartar, then continue with a mixed board of brie, goat cheese, jam, roasted nuts, homemade pickles, and artisan bread, and two side salads.

Finish with a choice of desserts: Belgian chocolate soufflé with a raspberry heart, salted caramel mousse, vanilla ice cream, and French macaroon.

Cuisine & Wine Bistro in south Chandler has released its special Valentine prix fixe menu (see larger version) of French cuisine with wine pairings for Sunday, Feb. 14.

Chef-owner Fabrice Buschtetz ’s menu begins with an amuse bouche – mini crab cakes with spicy aioli – followed by diners’ choice of two starters, crawfish bisque cappuccino or honey-glazed duck breast with cauliflower mousseline.

A goat cheese salad with mixed greens and roasted nuts is followed by a choice of three entrees: Lobster Thermidor with aged parmesan risotto; Beef Wellington au jus with a vegetable tian, or Wild Halibut Papillotte with beurre orange.

Dessert is a choice between raspberry and dark chocolate mousse or espresso crème brulee with chocolate truffle.

On Saturday, Feb. 13, all four Serrano’s Mexican Restaurant locations will offer a $45 three-course Sizzling Dinner-for-Two Valentine’s Special that includes:

  • Choice of chicken tortilla soup or house salad;
  • A sizzling platter of meat (choice of machaca beef, shredded chicken, cochinita pibil,or shredded pork), fajita vegetables, and two homemade flour tortillas;
  • Choice of two sides (Spanish rice, cilantro lime rice, refried beans, black beans, pinto beans, or Mexican vegetables);
  • “Mint to Be” shared dessert (chocolate cake layered with whipped cream, chocolate pastry cream, and Girl Scout Thin Mints).

The special also will be available to go via curbside pickup (phone-in orders only).

All locations are closed Sundays.

Tonight: Santa Claus photos at Serrano’s in downtown Chandler

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a stop for photos and coloring activities at Serrano’s Mexican Restaurant in downtown Chandler from 5-7:30 p.m. tonight.

Photos are free and will be emailed to participants. There will also be a prize for the child who finds a hidden chile in the restaurant.

Thursday nights are #DeviceFreeDinner – a voluntary foregoing of phones, electronic games, and other distractions – at Serrano’s. Children’s meals are half-price ($2.49 for kids younger than 10).

In addition, Serrano’s will have a food special for adults: Fajitas for two (pictured) for $16.99.

Bashas’ creates series of holiday-themed doughnuts

Bashas’ Supermarkets are offering special holiday doughnuts for a limited time:

  • Peppermint Chocolate Cake Donut: With green icing and crushed candy cane and Christmas sprinkles (available through Saturday);
  • Reindeer Donut: A maple bar with pretzel antlers and sugar-frosted red nose and eyes (available Sunday-Dec. 22);
  • Arizona Christmas Cactus Donut: Shaped like a saguaro cactus with green icing and a string of frosting lights (available Dec. 23-24);
  • Egg Nog Donut: A Bismarck filled with egg nog custard and topped with nutmeg icing (available Dec. 26-31).

The doughnuts are 75 cents apiece, $3.99 per half dozen, or $6.99 per dozen.
