Postino WineCafe has kicked off a bracket-style Battle of the Bruschetta to determine which of eight limited-time bruschetta recipes will get a permanent spot on its menu this fall.

The format: During each two-week battle, diners can order two competing bruschetta flavors and vote on their favorite by texting “BATTLE” to 602-637-1510.

  • Diners can vote once per two-week battle and automatically will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card.

The schedule:

  • June 1-June 14: Mexican Street Corn vs. Italiano
  • June 15-June 28: The Devilest Egg vs. The Mediterranean
  • June 29-July 12: Chicken Curry vs. Spicy Brussels Sprouts
  • July 13-July 26: Strawberry Cheesecake vs. Sweet Potato Pie
  • July 27-Aug. 9: Winner Battle #1 vs. Winner Battle #2
  • Aug. 10-23: Winner Battle #3 vs. Winner Battle #4
  • Aug. 24-Sept. 6: Championship battle

Where: The Battle of the Bruschetta will take place at all eight Postino locations in Arizona.

🍽 Arizona Restaurant Week begins its 10-day spring run today with more than 150 restaurants offering special three-course prix-fixe menus for $33, $44, or $55 per person or couple.

The goal: ‘‘To position Arizona as one of the top culinary destinations in the nation by increasing awareness of the many dining opportunities available in the state.’’

The menus: Meals typically include a choice of appetizer, a choice of entree(s), and a dessert. Beverages, tax, and tip usually are not included.

  • See the list of participating restaurants and their menus here.
  • Although most menus are focused on dinner, restaurants were given the option this year of doing a breakfast or lunch menu.
  • Participating restaurants also will offer their regular menus during Restaurant Week.
  • Reservations are not required, but are strongly recommended, especially on weekends.

Who’s participating: It varies greatly by city. Scottsdale has 65 restaurants taking part. Tempe has just five.

When does it end: Restaurant Week runs through Sunday, May 28. The fall edition will run Sept. 8-17.

🍽 Terra Tempe Kitchen & Spirits, the elevated restaurant on the ground floor of The Westin hotel in downtown Tempe, has introduced new brunch, lunch, and dinner menus curated by executive chef Mario Ventura.

🇮🇹 Dolce Vita, an Italian deli in east Mesa, kicks off a 20-week series of specials today. Each week, a different region of Italy will be highlighted with a dish.

This week’s special, available through Sunday, is valdostana – pan-seared veal cutlets, prosciutto, and fontina cheese fried in a butter sauce. Next week: Bagna càuda.

🥧 Today is Pie Day, aka Pi (3.14) Day, which OHSO Brewery celebrates with its annual pie social that pairs 10 pie-inspired beers with 10 pies from The Pie Snob.

Beers go on tap at 11 a.m., and beers and pies will be available until supplies run out at OHSO’s locations in Gilbert, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley.

🌭 Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its first location outside of New York City (which, coincidentally, was in Scottsdale) with a special New York-themed menu that includes a hot dog pizza (with onions,  sauerkraut, and mustard) and confetti cheesecake.

It’s available at all seven Arizona locations until June 6.

🍷 The good news: A la carte menu options now are available exclusively at the bar on a first-come first-served basis at acclaimed Virtù Honest Craft, which specializes in three-course meals, in Old Town Scottsdale.

The bad news: Reservations are not accepted for bar seating, so plan ahead to beat the nightly crowds.

B2 Concepts – aka Ghett Yo Taco, Ghett Yo Pizza and Ghett Yo Wings – also are offering specials all week that pay homage to the teams in Sunday’s game.

Ghett Yo Taco in downtown Chandler:

  • Philly taco: Ribeye steak, grilled onions, green peppers, mozzarella cheese, and a Cheez Wiz drizzle.
  • KC taco: Smoked pulled pork, bacon, pickled onion, jalapeños, mozzarella, and a BBQ sauce drizzle.

Ghett Yo Pizza in Ahwatukee:

  • Philly pizza:  Cheez Wiz sauce base, ribeye steak, onions, green peppers, jalapeños, and Cheez Wiz drizzle.
  • KC pizza: BBQ sauce base, pulled pork, bacon, onions, jalapeños, mozzarella, and BBQ sauce drizzle.

Ghett You Wings at Christown Spectrum in Phoenix:

  • Philly sauce: Heinz ketchup, Frank’s Red Hot, A1 Sauce, and a blend of spices.
  • KC sauce: Kansas City-style BBQ Sauce.

Football fans can fuel up for Sunday’s Big Game by enjoying a special tasting menu featuring their team’s favorite hometown delicacies at Joe’s Farm Grill in Gilbert.

Philly Flavors Tasting Menu

  • Philly cheese steak “wit’” grilled onions and one, two or three of the following: provolone, white American and “whiz” on an Amoroso’s Bakery hoagie roll;
  • Crab fries with white cheese sauce;
  • Yum Yum mandarin orange Jell-O salad;
  • Green beans with onions and bacon;
  • Shoo Fly Cake with Amish molasses and fresh whip cream.

K.C. Cuisine Tasting Menu

  • Brisket “burnt ends” and St. Louis-cut spareribs, sauced, with rustic cornbread;
  • Baked mac ’n’ cheese with garlic crumb topping;
  • Candied yams with maple vanilla bourbon sauce;
  • Southern green beans with onions and bacon;
  • Kansas Dirt Cake – frozen with Oreo crumbs.

Either tasting menu is $28 and available for lunch or dinner through Sunday.
