As part of its upcoming week-long fifth-anniversary celebration, The Hungry Monk in Chandler will host a Four Peaks beer dinner Sunday, Aug. 23. The five-course dinner costs $50 (which includes tax and tip) and will start at 4:30 p.m.

Northern California-based Black Bear Diner, which made its Arizona debut in Gilbert in 2008, is expanding its footprint in the East Valley. The inexpensive, family-friendly chain is taking over the former Applebee’s on the northeast corner of Alma School and Queen Creek.
